THE MEET AND GREET

I can’t explain why I needed to write this memoir, only that I couldn’t not do it. My greatest hope for Wife Mother Drunk is for it to find its way into the hands of someone who needs it, who’ll read through the chapters and relate in ways that offer hope and understanding in their own story.

I am not a recovery wizard. In fact, I’m not an authority on PTSD, addiction, eating disorders, mental illness, neuroscience, marriage or motherhood. My expertise comes from 35 years of experience and education in all of the above, and I share it in service to others.

Hello out there! I’m Emily Redondo, the author of Wife Mother Drunk, and I live with my family in McKinney, Texas. I write on personal experiences with addiction, recovery, and mental health as a mother.

What else about Emily?

I met my husband, Pete, 22 years ago at an AA meeting. We got married in 2004, three months after our first date. Our kids are ages 27, 20, 17, and 15, plus a soon-to-be son-in-law. We’re a close-knit cast of characters, a constant work in progress, and diehard fans of music, roadtrips, the Green Bay Packers, and the great outdoors. Oh, and we’ve got weird cats.
